J Yuvarani, a teacher from Union Middle School under Bommanampalayam Panchayat, has
acquired the Sarabhai Teacher Scientist National Award 2021 for her innovative teaching methodology. The National Council of Teacher Scientists, an organisation
associated with the Vigyan Prasar under the Ministry of Science and Technology,
bestows the national prize.
J Yuvarani will
receive the runner up (Second Place) award in the primary school teacher
division, out of three instructors, during February 28 (National Science Day) which is to be
hosted in capital, New Delhi.
She is recognised for
her teaching methods that combine art and learning, so its unsurprising to colleagues and students for this award.
She has worked as a technical staff member at Kalvi
Tholaikatchi and has prepared over
250 graphical video lessons for the benefit
of students.
Her teaching methods
are similar to theatre material. She also turns classes into marionette shows, including
teachings into the performances. She educates using the talks between the characters, and the students’
responses effectively. Her teaching methodology is staged theatrical principles. She made
this to real picture with lot of efforts behind that. The scripting for class is done as classes in the same way that theatrical content is scripted.
Apart from teaching
approaches, she is working on other initiatives such as entertaining learning events, involving students in libraries, and hosting Science and Mathematics
exhibitions in schools.
